Driving directions from Queen Beatrix International Airport: Take the main road out of the airport towards Oranjestad. After Oranjestad, this main highway curves into Juan E Irausquin Blvd. The resort is in the high-rise area, on the left side of the road.

Getting there: There is no shuttle service from this airport so taxis are the best way to arrive. Fares are $16–$25 USD. Rental cars are available online for more than $36 USD. Arubus public buses run from across the road from the airport to the main terminal in the Oranjestad dock area where a transfer onto Bus #10 or #10A takes passengers to the hotel area. Fare is less than $5 USD. Fees are subject to change without notice.

Getting around: This is a district of large high-rise hotels and outside of hotel facilities, it offers some dining choices but little in the way of shopping so visitors head to the downtown stores. Buses run from in front of the hotel into downtown for fares of less than $5 USD; taxis are $5–$15 USD. Bicycles can be rented for $16–$25 USD a day and mopeds for more than $36 USD a day. Fees subject to change without notice. Because main roads are well-maintained and well-posted, driving (right-hand side) is a popular option.

Amenity highlights: Sprawling amid flowering tropical gardens and an enormous freshwater lagoon stocked with fish, an 8,000-square-foot pool complex features a two-story serpentine water slide and a six-person ocean-view spa. A two-level pool offers a lower activities section containing a swim-up bar and an upper quiet section. Palm Beach runs 2 miles in front of the Hyatt Regency and other resorts, a broad and deep expanse of nearly white sand washed by the turquoise Caribbean Sea and furnished with thatch shades. Rental water-sports gear is available at numerous centers, including one within the resort. Snorkeling, scuba diving, and sailing excursions and cruises are widely available.

Insider tip: Macaws, parrots, and a black-and-yellow toucan with a giant, Technicolor beak are scattered throughout the central gardens. Most are housed in cages, but an uncaged, raucous choir of macaws enlivens the pool scene.

An air-conditioned fitness center contains cardio and weight machines as well as free weights, and includes unisex sauna and steam room. Camp Hyatt provides supervised children's activities, with half- and full-day sessions available as well as evening programs (fees).
