Most resort guests take a taxi-van from the airport. One-way fare is $12 for one passenger plus $8 each for additional passenger. (Rates are set by the government and are subject to change.) Car rentals are available via this Web site. Driving is on the left side, British-style, along narrow, winding, hilly roads.

Suites and villas with white tile floors feature full kitchens. Private, furnished patios or balconies offer ocean and harbor views. Decor includes rattan furniture, mahogany closet doors, floral drapes, louvered front doors, and ceiling fans. VCRs are available on request.

Prettyklip Pool Bar & Grill - Located at base of Prettyklip Point. Open-air spot offering lunch menu of grilled fish and chicken, burgers, salads, sandwiches, and tropical drinks. Open every day for lunch.

Steakhouse on the Point - After-dark conversion of Prettyklip into linen-service restaurant featuring grilled steaks, ribs, chicken, and seafood. Steaks are certified Angus beef, aged and hand-cut on property. Open every evening for dinner.

Beach Bar Pavilion - Open-air beachside restaurant serving lunch every day. Live music Friday, Saturday nights; Sunday afternoons.

Sand Bar - Cocktails, tropical drinks, beer inside Seagrape Restaurant.

Amenity highlights: Located at the base of a rocky point offering views of St. John and the British Virgin Islands beyond, the resort's large, two-level swimming pool is surrounded by a flagstone sundeck and rock walls. The 3-foot-deep upper level functions as a children's pool. The resort's beach extends 200 yards along the half-mile-long shore fronting the resort.

Insider tip: Adjacent to the pool complex, a 75-yard-long grass path leads out onto a rock-lined promontory. At the end is a prime spot for spotting nearby islands and observing yacht traffic in and out of the resort's marina.
