The Leonardo Express train connects Fiumicino Airport, also known as Leonardo da Vinci Airport, with Termini Station. Taxis are also available.

ATAC, the public transport system, operates buses, trams, subway (Metropolitana) and suburban railways. The Metro station closest to the hotel is Cavour or Repubblica. There is also a wide choice of buses. The hotel can order taxis on request.

This hotel has 35 guestrooms, all of which have marble floors, frescoed ceilings and high windows. Some rooms have an Art Deco feel with gold light fittings, paneled walls and painted wood TV cabinets. Copies of famous Art Deco or Impressionist paintings decorate the rooms. Rooms have marble bathrooms with telephones, bidets, large walk-in showers or power showers in a tub. Natural light filters in through tall, thin stained glass windows. Rooms on the second floor have stylish illuminated mirrors. Only a few rooms have proper double beds, as opposed to two twin beds pushed together. Two double rooms on the fourth floor have terraces and views over the nearby rooftops.

Breakfast room - Breakfast is served on the fourth floor of the hotel, in a room with glass walls, offering panoramic views over Rome.

Bar/lounge - Immediately to the left of the lobby is the bar with green leather seating and dark paneled walls. A frescoed ceiling is decorated with griffins and palms line each side of the bar. Coffee, pastries and spirits are served 24 hours a day.

What to expect: Located on a quiet cul-de-sac, the marble lobby is decorated with an antique glass chandelier and features two original Roman columns dug up when the hotel was built in 1900. Otherwise, the recently refurbished hotel is very modern with Art Deco touches, frescoed ceilings and a clientele of international tourists, especially visitors from the US.

Amenity highlights: All rooms in the hotel are accessible by lift. There are marble floors throughout, a roof-top breakfast room with views over the rooftops of Rome, onsite parking, an airport shuttle service and a bar/lounge which is open 24 hours.

Insider tip: The rooftop terrace on the fourth floor of the hotel has panoramic views of the statue of Victory in her three-horsed chariot. She crowns the towering Vittoriano monument on Piazza Venezia and symbolizes the successful unification of Italy in 1861. Rome only became the capital of Italy in 1870.
