    DINING

Guests of the hotel enjoy a complimentary buffet breakfast each morning.

La Broche - Everything from the walls to the gauze-covered windows, leather chairs, marble floors, linen cloths, orchids and Limoges porcelain is white at this dazzling restaurant, expertly run by media darling and chef Sergi Arola. The two-Michelin starred cuisine is based in Spanish Mediterranean cooking but seeks inspiration from all over the world. Fresh herbs are bought daily, measured for each portion, and displayed in test tubes. Oils are poured into pharmaceutical style bottles, adding to the clinical touch. Dishes may include Cucumber Foam with Salmon Eggs, Stew of King Prawn with Vine Peaches or Raviolis of Mango but the signature dish is sardines. There is street and hotel access (mezzanine level) to the restaurant.

Rarco - A la carte but informal dining at this restaurant focuses on Spanish Mediterranean cuisine for lunch and dinner and extensive buffet. The parquet floor is offset by caramel-colored leather banquets and small chandeliers. There are 80 covers.and street access.

The Miguel Angel Bar - Located at the far end of the lobby to the right, this bar is decorated with a mix of low, black leather chairs, fabric-covered sofas, an 18th century wardrobe and real fireplace. Soft and alcoholic drinks and snacks are served all day at the wooden bar. There is live piano music every evening.

The Pergola - Located at the far end of the lobby overlooking the garden, this glass-roofed conservatory has a white marble floor and cheerful painted wooden table tops with wrought iron legs. Tea and coffee is served in this brightly lit space all day. It is also a popular spot for cocktails and refreshments for businesspeople on a break (the meeting rooms are adjacent).

The Miguel Angel Garden - This terraced garden, set on three levels, has two rows of tall fir trees and bay trees in pots. Breakfast is served here from June to August, and dinner from mid-June to September. There are 80 covers, some shade, and fans to protect against the heat of summer. A small kitchen in a wooden chalet ensures food is very fresh.

    SERVICES
What to expect: Spanish and international businesspeople are in the majority at this hotel, although leisure travelers can dominate at weekends and in summer. The modern concrete building and buzz of mobile phones is softened by pristine antiques in the marble-floored lobby and a quality of service that ensures repeat visits (there are 263 rooms and over 200 employees).

Amenity highlights: There are views of the large garden from many hotel rooms and from the Pergola coffee room. Buffet breakfast is served on the garden’s terrace from July to August; and an a la carte dinner menu from mid-June to September. Antiques decorate the lobby, including a 17th century British grandfather clock and 18th century Spanish tapestries.

Insider tip: A beautiful but lesser known attraction 1.5 km from the hotel is the Sorolla Museum, filled with Spanish post-Impressionist art and 20th century works, and set in the former home and workplace of Joaquín Sorolla in an elegant Madrileño townhouse off the Paseo de la Castellana. Paintings range from studies of Spanish aristocrats to commoners, the Sorolla family and sunny scenes of the Costa Blanca.

There are ten meeting rooms - the largest, known as the Medici and located on the mezzanine level, has a capacity for 200 theater style, and can be split into three modular areas. Senoria, suitable for private dinners or small meetings, has original 18th-century furniture.

The gym features a small selection of cardiovascular machines. The garden brings a touch of tranquility to this bustling hotel - offering a place to stroll or dine al fresco.
