MTS buses stop in front of the hotel and run to Fashion Valley Mall where connections can be made to buses and trolleys heading downtown. The hotel is a mile from Old Town with its many shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, historic sites, and other tourist attractions but walking there is difficult because of the lack of sidewalks so taxis and rental cars are more convenient. Once downtown, water taxis can be used to travel around San Diego Bay; they stop at various points depending on passenger request; most one-way fares are $5–15; reservations preferred.
