Getting around: This hotel is in a quiet area of marinas with no shopping and little dining in the immediate area. But an easy way to get around is to hop on the hotel’s complimentary shuttle service. Based upon availability, vans drop off guests at the Amtrak station downtown and at the Harbor Excursion company office. Harbor Excursion water taxis travel around San Diego Bay, stopping at various points depending on passenger request; most one-way fares are $5–15; reservations preferred. Ferries cross between Broadway Pier and the Ferry Landing Marketplace on Coronado for less than $5 one-way. One-way bus, trolley, and Coaster (commuter rail) fares are less than $5. Fees subject to change without notice. Otherwise, a taxi or car is usually necessary to reach shopping and entertainment choices. Driving around the San Diego area involves frequent use of freeways and in the downtown core, one-way streets.
