Rental cars are available online. Getting around: This is a commercial area with other hotels and some dining in the immediate area. For shopping, and more dining and entertainment choices, guests can either walk to the Fashion Valley Mall a few blocks away, or use the hotel courtesy van which drops guests off at Fashion Valley Mall, Old Town, and Mission Valley shopping center. The trolley’s blue line leaves from Fashion Valley Mall Transit Center for downtown. Public buses stop in front of the hotel. Both trolley and buses provide access to the Coaster commuter lines (nearest stop is Old Town Transit Center) and the greater San Diego area. One-way bus, trolley, and Coaster fares are less than $5. Rental cars may be the easiest way to get to numerous attractions in greater San Diego. Driving involves frequent use of freeways and in the downtown core, one-way streets. Water taxis travel across San Diego Bay, stopping at various points depending on passenger request; most one-way fares are $5–15; reservations preferred.
