    SERVICES
What to expect: Built in 1939 and fully renovated before its 1997 re-opening, the Albion is one of Miami Beach’s art-deco masterpieces. The interior design is minimalist and elegant: the lobby has a slanted silver waterwall, and furniture in the lobby and guestrooms is custom-designed by architect Carlos Zapata. The Albion’s clientele is a mix of business and leisure, with an emphasis on U.S. and European travelers from the fashion, media, and art worlds. Catalogue production crews and magazine editors and photographers are among the guests, and the hotel itself, with its superb architecture, often serves as a backdrop during photo shoots.

Amenity highlights: The 60-foot pool is on the hotel’s second level, as is the fitness room and a restaurant. The Fallabella Bar, open nightly, is a popular spot for locals and hotel guests to mingle. The hotel furnishings are custom-designed and the art is an eclectic mix of contemporary work. The building is considered an art-deco masterpiece–the architect described the sleek, nautically inspired building as “a luxury ocean liner on dry land.” The hotel’s location provides easy access to the shops and restaurants of Lincoln Road Mall.

Insider tip: The Albion’s location on the corner of Lincoln Road Mall allows guests to explore this great outdoor pedestrian mall that many tourists miss. It’s full of shops and restaurants, and home to a symphony, a multiplex cinema, a theater, and art galleries including the South Florida Art Center, where 50 local artists work and display their creations in walk-in studios.

The hotel has a pool, fitness room, restaurant, and bar. Meeting and function space is available both indoors and out. Guests can use the amenities at nearby hotels, the Greenview (around the corner) and the Beach House (5 miles north, in Bal Harbour). The Beach House is oceanfront and has a pool, poolside spa, and gym. Guests can also schedule a private tour of the Rubell family’s renowned collection of contemporary art.
