| The 74-suite Savoy Hotel is located on 2.5 acres in Miami’s South Beach area, on Ocean Drive between 4th and 5th streets. The main drag of South Beach (SoBe) can be raucous at night and busy all day, but the Savoy is in a quiet area, referred to as SoFi (South of Fifth). The hotel is actually two circa-1934 classic Art Deco hotels combined into a north and south portion of the hotel. Some suites are decorated in a contemporary style; others have a classic Florida decor. The hotel has private access to the beach, where guests can use the hotel's lounge chairs and towel service. A garden-like pool area with a Mediterranean feel has palm trees, two adjacent free-form pools, a poolside bar, and two sundecks that overlook the pool and the ocean. A fitness room below one sundeck overlooks the pool area. A spa offering massages, facials, and pedicures is scheduled to open next to the fitness center by January 2004. Additional amenities include complimentary Continental breakfast, a seasonal indoor/outdoor restaurant serving breakfast and lunch, and meeting rooms that can hold 20-250 people. |
