SERVICES |
| What to expect: Although it's situated next to one of the area's busiest intersections, the resort is a secluded, tranquil, 48-acre spread of gardens, lawns, lagoons, fountains, and wandering ducks cosseting an international clientele of families and business travelers. The stately-but-informal ambience is exemplified by a cool, quiet lobby displaying a marble-and-polished-wood floor. Amenity highlights: Three large, heated pools and two children's pools offer respites from theme-park visits. One pool and one children's pool are located in the resort's front. The others are grouped in the center, along with a 10-person spa, Ping-Pong and pool tables, and expansive sundecks furnished with padded lounge chairs. A pool concierge hands out complimentary toys, floats, CD players, and CDs. Nearby are a supervised children's center (fee), a playground, a game room, and Screams!, a gift/sundries/ice-cream shop. Insider tip: Right outside the resort is the I-Ride Trolley, a low-cost transport running between 7 AM and midnight along the International Drive corridor and stopping at its many shopping, dining, and entertainment attractions. The 6-mile trolley also links to a public bus that connects directly to Disney World's transportation center, from which visitors can travel on Disney buses to all of the 42-square-mile resort's attractions. Children under 12 ride the trolley for free. |
Resort facilities include a large, bright, air-conditioned fitness center. The center has men's and women's "wet" sides, each containing extra-large sauna and steam rooms and massage rooms.
A complimentary shuttle service runs from the resort to Universal Studios, Universal's Islands of Adventure, Universal City Walk, Wet 'n Wild water park, SeaWorld Adventure Park, and Mall at Millenia. For a fee, other shuttles connect to Disney World's four theme parks and Downtown Disney. |
