| What to expect: For a moderately priced hotel, the Waikiki Terrace contains a surprising amount of luxurious marble, beginning with the lobby and front desk and continuing into guestrooms. The lobby features what might be Hawaii's largest mirror. Amenity highlights: On the third-floor terrace is a good-size pool surrounded by a sundeck furnished with lounge chairs, umbrellas, and tables. A platform hot tub adjacent to the pool offers views of Fort DeRussy's greenery. Please note: The pool and surrounding area will be closed for renovation until further notice. Guests will have access to a nearby pool during this time. Insider tip: A five-minute walk through Fort DeRussy leads to Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa. Another five-minute stroll through the Village leads to a long, deep beach of light-colored sand where beach paraphernalia can be rented, and outrigger canoes and catamarans offer rides (fee). From the beach's pier, the Atlantis Submarine conducts fascinating underwater tours, exploring coral reefs, tropical fish, and even sunken ships. |
