| Buckingham’s - This classy steak-and-seafood restaurant, paneled in polished mahogany, has a clubby atmosphere decorated with watercolors, paintings, and drawings by Chicago artists that portray the restaurant’s namesake—Buckingham Fountain across the street in Grant Park. At the marble-topped bar, diners may start the evening with a fine wine or martini, and wind down with a single-malt scotch whiskey and a cigar from the large humidor. The menu includes fine cuts of beef, and seafood selections change seasonally. Open for dinner and cocktails daily, Buckingham’s also hosts Sunday brunch in the Normandie Lounge. The Pavilion - This casual restaurant opens onto the ornate lobby, and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night meals until 1 AM. The menu features Mediterranean-influenced cuisine with a variety of pasta, seafood, and chicken dishes. Kitty O’Shea's Irish Pub - With exchange students from Ireland working as serving staff, and Irish beers on tap, Kitty O’Shea's feels like a real Irish pub. The menu includes shepherd’s pie, potato soup, and burgers. Local Irish bands take to a small stage most nights Thursday through Sunday. The pub is open Monday through Friday until 2 AM and opens at noon on weekends. Lakeside Green Lounge - During the day, the lobby lounge offers a quiet area for guests to relax on leather couches, read the newspaper, watch the morning news on TV, or sip coffee at a high-top bar table. In the evening, the lounge transforms into a swanky club where martinis flow, and the bar serves appetizer-type munchies. |
