Chicago Midway Airport (MDY): Approximate driving time is 20 minutes and distance is 9.5 miles. Both airports are served by frequent CTA trains into downtown ($1.50), for transfers to taxis ($5-$15 to the hotel) or to the Blue Line (free transfer from Midway Orange Line; no transfer necessary from O’Hare Blue Line). From the Racine stop on the Blue Line, it's less than half a mile to the hotel. Rental cars ($26-$35/day), taxis ($26-$35 to downtown), and private shuttles ($16-$25) are also available at both airports; drive times can be considerably longer than the times noted above. For groups of four or more, a limousine or town car is often more economical than separate taxis to the hotel. Public transportation and taxis serve downtown and most city destinations. The hotel is located just off of I-290, which offers access to downtown as well as to the regional highway system. Trips to the wider metropolitan area will require a rental car; several rental companies maintain downtown offices in addition to their airport locations. |
