    DINING
Shula’s Steak House - Legendary football coach Don Shula has created a shrine to beef in this dimly lit, 100-seat restaurant at the west end of the hotel lobby. The menus are hand-painted on official NFL game footballs, and large black-and-white photos of famous football moments hang in gilt frames on walls trimmed in dark wood. Open for dinner.

Shula’s Steak 2 - The coach’s more casual dining option is a clubby rectangular room ringed with 56 TVs and numerous framed sports jerseys. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served.

Shula’s Hall of Fame Lounge - Cigar lovers have their own lockers in the back of this three-level bar with a pool table. In the morning, guests can buy coffee and muffins at the lounge’s entrance.

    SERVICES
What to expect: The Wyndham’s gleaming white-and-dark-green marble lobby welcomes a variety of guests: business travelers and groups visiting the convention center three blocks south, leisure travelers, and performers at the nearby 1st Mariner Arena or Morris Mechanic Theater.

Amenity highlights: In summer, an outdoor splash pool is open, with views looking north and west of the city from three floors above the street. Next to the pool is a fitness room, partially walled with full-length windows and outfitted with three weight machines, a Nautilus Time Machine, three treadmills, three stair machines, four exercise bikes, and two TVs.

Insider tip: Five blocks northwest of the hotel stands Lexington Market, a Baltimore landmark for 200 years. Vendors sell fruits, vegetables, meats, flowers, and prepared food in two large, brightly lit buildings. The crab cakes at Faidley’s in the main building are superb.

The Wyndham’s outdoor splash pool (open seasonally) is small, but affords broad views of the north and west side of the city from three stories above the street. Adjacent to the pool is an L-shaped fitness room walled on two sides by floor-to-ceiling windows and containing three treadmills, three stair machines, a Nautilus Time Machine, and four exercise bikes.

The Wyndham houses former Miami Dolphins coach Don Shula’s restaurants: the dressy Shula’s Steak House, where the menus are printed on footballs, and Shula’s Steak 2, a more casual sports lounge. Across the hotel lobby, the three-level Hall of Fame Lounge is a cigar bar dominated by a pool table and baby-grand piano.
