Driving directions from Logan International Airport: Take the Ted Williams Tunnel (pay toll) to I-93 north. Take Exit 23 (Government Ctr) and bear right toward the Aquarium. Turn left onto Milk St toward the Aquarium and the hotel. Pull into the valet circle for parking. (Before using these directions, confirm them with the concierge to avoid Boston's Big Dig construction project.)

Getting there: For guests without too much heavy luggage, a convenient way to reach the hotel is the T, Boston's rapid transit system (less than $5). A complimentary shuttle connects the terminal with the Airport Station; ride the Blue Line two stops and exit at the Aquarium. Taxis ($16–$25) are another good choice. There is a water taxi ($5–$15) that operates seasonally and provides a good view of the city on the way. (Fees subject to change without notice).

Getting around: The best way to navigate downtown Boston is on foot, and there are several attractions within walking distance of the hotel. The T is a convenient choice for longer trips or for guests who prefer not to walk.

Lounge - A casual lunch and dinner menu is served daily along with a healthy list of micro-brewed beers. A highly polished floor of dark and light wood weaves through private tables and a décor of life preservers, ship flags, sails, and old nautical posters.

What to expect: The hotel was designed to look like the inside of a luxury cruise ship, with a spacious lobby and use of bright red metal railings. Large guestrooms and meeting rooms were freshly painted and provided with new furniture and carpeting during the $9-million renovation in 2001. The hotel is on the same wharf as Boston Harbor Cruises, which offers trips to harbor islands, lighthouses, and forts.

Amenity highlights: On one level, a complete health club includes an indoor pool, jet spa and separate men’s and women’s saunas.
