Driving directions from LaGuardia: Take Grand Central Pkwy west to I-278 (Brooklyn-Queens Expy) west. At Exit 35, merge onto I-495 (Long Island Expy) west and take the Queens Midtown Tunnel (toll road). After exiting the tunnel, turn left on E 34th St. Turn left on 1st Ave, then turn left on E 50th St. Turn right on Beekman Pl, then right on Mitchell Pl.

Driving directions from JFK: Take I-678 (Van Wyck Expy) west and drive for approximately 8 miles. At Exit 12B, merge onto I-495 (Long Island Expy) west and take the Queens Midtown Tunnel (toll road). After exiting the tunnel, turn left on E 34th St. Turn left on 1st Ave, then turn left on E 50th St. Turn right on Beekman Pl, then right on Mitchell Pl.

Driving directions from Newark: Follow signs to take US 1/US 9 north to I-95 (New Jersey Tpke) north (toll road). Take Exit 16E to I-495 (Lincoln Tunnel), then exit to West Side Hwy/40th St. Turn right on 40th St, then turn left on 1st Ave. Turn right on E 50th St, right on Beekman Pl, then right on Mitchell Pl.

Getting there: From LaGuardia and JFK, the best option for the solo traveler is a shuttle van ($16–25). Groups of two or more will usually find a taxi more economical ($16–25 from LaGuardia; more than $36 from JFK). From JFK, guests traveling light may opt for the Air Train ($5–15). Getting around: A number of nearby shops, restaurants, and attractions can be reached on foot. For longer trips, the subway is a good choice (less than $5; fees subject to change without notice), especially during peak traffic hours. Taxis are also readily available. Rental cars are not recommended.
