Getting there: For the solo traveler, the best option from any of the airports is a shuttle van ($16–25). For groups of two or more, a taxi is usually a better value ($26–35 from LaGuardia; more than $36 from JFK and Newark). Other options, including JFK's Air Train and express buses from all airports, are less expensive ($5–15), but do not go to the hotel. A taxi or subway can be used for the balance of the trip. Getting around: Walking is an excellent way to reach nearby attractions and experience the general feel of the city. For other destinations, the subway is a good option, especially during rush hour (less than $5; fees subject to change without notice). Taxis are another good way to get around town. Rental cars are not recommended.
