    Driving directions from LaGuardia: Take Grand Central Pkwy west to I-278 (Brooklyn-Queens Expy) west. Exit to SR 25A and bear right onto Queens Plaza N. Continue on Queensboro Bridge and exit to 2nd Ave south. Continue straight off the exit onto 60th St, then turn left on Park Ave. Turn right on W 53rd St, then turn left on 7th Ave. Turn left on W 52nd St, and the hotel is on the left.

    Driving directions from Newark: Follow signs to take US 1/US 9 north to I-95 (New Jersey Tpke) north (toll road). Take I-495 to the Lincoln Tunnel and exit to West Side Hwy/40th St. Turn right on W 42nd St, then turn left on 8th Ave. Turn right on W 52nd St, and the hotel is on the left.

    Getting there: For the solo traveler, the best option from any of the airports is a shuttle van ($16–25). For groups of two or more, a taxi is usually a better value ($26–35 from LaGuardia; more than $36 from JFK and Newark). Other options into the city, including express buses and JFK's Air Train, are less expensive ($5–15), but do not go to individual hotels. Take a taxi or subway to finish the trip.     Getting around: Walking is an excellent way to visit the many attractions near the hotel. For other destinations, the subway is a good choice, especially during rush hour (less than $5; fees subject to change without notice). Taxis are another good way to get around town. Rental cars are not recommended.

    Moda Restaurant & Lounge - Flatotel’s main restaurant has a modern Italian menu with Mediterranean accents, and serves three meals daily. The dining room, which seats 80 guests, has a clean, dark layout, brightened with a mod pink-patterned banquette and a rear wall dotted with candle sconces. Adjoining the restaurant is the lobby lounge, furnished with seating for groups.

    Loggia - The hotel’s outdoor bar, which serves the same menu as Moda, occupies a public glass-topped walkway, and is decorated with greenery, a tiled bar, and seasonally painted canvas murals. It’s open for lunch, dinner, and cocktails, and occasionally hosts parties and fashion shows.

    What to expect: The lobby’s modular leather chairs, industrial-looking walls, and ambient soundtrack are all part of Flatotel’s contemporary design is extended upstairs in charcoal-carpeted hallways and custom-made furnishings.
