Getting there: From LaGuardia and JFK, the best option for the solo traveler is a shuttle van ($16–25). For two or more travelers, a taxi is usually a better value ($26–35 from LaGuardia; more than $36 from JFK). Another option from JFK is the Air Train ($5–15), then a taxi from the train station. Getting around: Walking is the best way to reach nearby attractions, and also allows travelers to experience the pulse of the city. For other destinations, the subway is a good, inexpensive choice (less than $5; fees subject to change without notice), especially during rush hour when taxis are scarce. Taxis are another good option and are readily available most of the time. Rental cars are not recommended.
