Open daily for dinner and Sunday brunch, it also offers a lounge serving cocktails and a "view buffet" of cheeses, salads, and other light fare. A dance floor is open weekend nights.

JW's Steakhouse - Located in the hotel’s eighth floor complex of restaurants, this traditional steakhouse offers choice cuts of steak, chops, and seafood, and serves them with an extensive wine list recognized by Wine Spectator magazine. Open for dinner daily, JW's is a good spot for pre-theater dining.

Encore - This theater-themed restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a lively room with a tiled mosaic, gold-and-black-striped lamps, red-and-blue glass, and a colorful Broadway-motif mural.

Katen Sushi Bar - This traditional Japanese restaurant offers freshly prepared sushi and sashimi presented tableside or at a striking onyx bar.

Atrium Lounge - This cocktail and martini lounge beneath the dramatic skylit atrium serves an extensive selection of wines and champagnes by the glass. An hors d'oeuvre menu is available.

Broadway Lounge - Iconic views of Times Square are the chief attraction of this clubby lounge perched above the city’s nexus. Glowing glass tables and green and plum-colored chairs create a contemporary Manhattan feel. The lounge features live music, signature cocktails, wines by the glass, and dishes prepared in an exhibition kitchen.

A Starbucks Coffee outlet is on the hotel’s ground level.

    SERVICES
What to expect: This colossal hotel encapsulates the glitzy energy and sheer scale of Times Square. Sightseeing and theater-going families commingle with conventioneers in the hotel's eighth-floor lobby complex of restaurants and shops, which features a waterfall fountain gently cascading over a backlit glass wall and a neon-lit clock inside a Plexiglas globe. Guests are whisked up a soaring 37-story atrium to their rooms via glass elevators rimmed in Broadway-style lights. The hotel also houses the Marquis Theatre.

Amenity highlights: Located on the 23rd-floor sky lobby, a glass-enclosed, 4,000-square-foot fitness center (open 24 hours) appears to float over the hotel’s dramatic atrium, providing panoramic views of Times Square and midtown Manhattan. Inside, guests will find a full array of cardio and weight equipment, over 60 pieces in all, plus two giant plasma screen TVs.

Insider tip: Built in 1925 with Louis XV-style interiors, the Embassy Movie Theatre on Broadway between 46th and 47th streets was the first movie theater in the U.S. managed and staffed solely by women. It was also the first newsreel theater in America, starting a national trend. Today it's home to the Times Square Visitors Center, an excellent one-stop source for brochures, tickets, and tour and transit information.

The 8th-floor lobby level contains an American Express travel desk, a theater ticket desk, a concierge, and a gift shop selling New York souvenirs and a variety of other high-quality items. A 24-hour business center features high-speed Internet access and a digital picture station.

Valet parking is $45 per 24-hour period, with no in/out privileges. Fee does not include tax, may vary by weekday, and is subject to change without prior notification.
