The Defiance House Lodge is located on a hill overlooking Lake Powell. Bullfrog received its name when a pioneer family was searching for water near Water Pocket Fold when they found a lone bullfrog sitting at the spring.

Established in 1965, Bullfrog is located on the north shore of Bullfrog Bay, 97 miles up-lake from Glen Canyon Dam and 75 miles from from Hanksville, Utah. When entering the park, follow the signs to get to the top of the hill.

The lodge is a two-story building consisting of 48 rooms. The rooms are in a separate building from the front desk and restaurant. The second floor is considered lakeview; the parking lot side on the second floor overlooks the mouth of Bullfrog Bay while the marina side overlooks Water Pocket Fold Range and part of Bullfrog Bay.

Driving Directions from Grand Junction Airport: Take I-70 West to Utah Highway 24 to Hanksville, Highway 24 to Highway 276 to Lake Powell.
