Getting around: In the heart of downtown near the waterfront, the hotel is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, live entertainment, and other attractions. Taxis—best arranged by phone—are convenient for short distances. It is also possible to drive downtown, though parking can be difficult and rush hour traffic is heavy. A large "ride free zone" spanning practically all of downtown allows riders to enjoy complimentary bus service during most hours. Rental cars are definitely the best bet for travel beyond downtown.

Insider tip: A great way to view the city is from the water, and one of the easiest ways to do this is to take a ferry ride across Puget Sound. The ferry terminal is just one block away, and riders can board with or without their vehicles. The 35-minute trip to Bainbridge Island provides riders with plenty of photo opportunities. Fares vary based on vehicle height, number and age of passengers, and season.

The Bookstore Bar - At the other end of the lobby, this dark-paneled, book-lined cigar bar features an extensive collection of beers, single-malt scotches, and single-barrel bourbons, as well as a café lunch-and-dinner menu of soups, salads, pastas, and desserts.
